For nearly a decade The Right Honourable Stephen J. Harper led Canada through the world’s most complex geopolitical, economic and security challenges as the country’s 22nd Prime Minister. He created the modern Conservative Party of Canada, won three successive national elections, and was the longest serving Conservative Prime Minister since Canada’s founding Prime Minister in 1891.

Curtis Stange was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of ATB Financial on June 30, 2018. With more than 35 years of experience in financial services in Canada, Curtis has led teams across diverse geographic markets and through various economic cycles—always with an inquisitive nature and a desire to get to know the people and places around him. 

Joan Hertz chairs ATB Financial’s Board of Directors. She previously served as a director at ATB from 2008 to 2018 and as chair of the Governance and Conduct Review Committee. ​Joan was previously Interim President and CEO of NorQuest College and is a corporate commercial lawyer and strategic consultant. She serves as the Board Chair of the Edmonton International Airport, and she both vice-chairs the Board for Covenant Health and chairs their Growth and Innovation Committee.

Chris Turchansky’s 27-year financial career has been dedicated to his passion for ensuring clients have access to advice and solutions that support their financial goals and enhance financial literacy. Beginning his career with ATB in 2004, Chris held increasingly senior positions with ATB Wealth, where he became President and led the team for 5 years. Prior to his current role as Group Head, Business and Wealth, he held the position of Chief Experience Officer where he brought together diverse groups elevating the importance of the client.

Mark Parsons is Vice President and Chief Economist at ATB Financial. Over his 20-year career, Mark has served in key senior economic roles, including as Chief Economist and Assistant Deputy Minister of Economics and Fiscal Policy at Alberta Treasury Board and Finance. He has provided leadership in a range of areas, including economic analysis and forecasting, fiscal analysis and data analytics. Mark previously worked as a senior economist at PwC and as an economist at the Department of Finance Canada. Mark holds a Masters degree in economics from the University of Alberta.
